What happens in a session?

A session generally starts with clients sharing their concerns and questions. Although each professional has a different working style, there is a common focus on the deeper aspects of one’s motivations. In other words, your will gain new perspective through exploration of thoughts, feelings, and images both inside and outside your immediate awareness.

How many sessions do I need?

Over time, and with input from your counselor, you can sense the frequency and number of sessions that fit with the stage of your personal process.

How is depth-oriented work on Stillpoint Spaces different from standard psychotherapy?

At Stillpoint Spaces, we recognize that the human condition includes questions that resonate to the depths of our being. In these challenges is a call to living a fuller and more authentic live. Our collective philosophy is that working with the deeper aspects of self is an important part of living one’s life to the fullest, not of just repairing disorders. Professionals whose licensure includes providing treatment for mental health disorders may offer a more integrated approach to addressing both the impact of such a disorder and generally around deeper questions of meaning and purpose.
