Women in Psychoanalysis and Culture (Series): Desire, Fantasy, and Textuality
Description
A series of reading groups investigating the depiction of women in photography and film.
In this series of women-only groups facilitated by Claudia Celadon, we will read and discuss psychoanalytic and philosophical texts in order to investigate the depiction of women in photography and film.
We will explore desire and linguistics in their relation to the representation of women in the imaginary world of films and photographs, and the ambiguous relationship here between appearance and reality.
This workshop is open for all those identifying as a woman. This is not a clinical or therapeutic group, but CPD certificates will be available. Previous knowledge of psychoanalytic theory is not necessary but advisable. To get the most out of this event it is advised that you attend all sessions if possible.
