Description
From the Baltic to the Black Sea, a region extends where more Jews than anywhere else in the world lived until their genocide Nazi Germany and its local helpers. Today, the region is still a landscape revealing the effects of genocide: overgrown Jewish cemeteries, ruins of synagogues, study houses, schools, and – sometimes marked, sometimes unmarked – mass graves. Photographer Christian Herrmann has visited these sites to capture what is left.
Vernissage: Sunday, 7th May 2017, 13h
