  • I run an Mindfulness Group in Zürich

I am an integrative mental health counsellor and coach. I hope with our sessions that you learn to thrive rather than only surviving.

I integrate from cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), emotion-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions. I also have training in cyber-counselling.

There are many frameworks I follow - and they are simply code for saying the sources of challenges in life can be at times external, systematic. Not all challenges are sourced from the inner world. These other models include: biopsychosocial approch, strengths-based perspectives, trauma-informed practice, and interpersonal theory. In addition, I am attuned to anti-oppressive lens, i.e. attending to inclusion, equity, diversity, cross-cultural experiences, intersectionality, and power hierarchies.

Please note I do not work with couples.

My current rate is $100 CDN or CHF 100.-. As of January 1, 2020, my rate will be $160 CDN or CHF 120.-.

Being a son of an immigrant from India, I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. Being queer, Muslim, racialised and educated, and a recent newcomer myself, I have experienced my own life challenges.

I had struggles with accepting my own intersecting identities, adapting to various cultural contexts, and aspiring to survive traumatic events. I believe our unresolved traumas are potential sites upon which may derive treasureable change. We hope to collaborate on developing coping strategies, but also create ways to thrive in life.

I live in Zürich, Switzerland and support English-speaking clients worldwide.

Experience

For over 10 years, I have supported people in the higher education and non-profit sector. I have supported students in a highly competitive education system in achieving or exploring their academic and social goals. I have coached and counselled marginalised, unemployed, and vulnerable members of society into finding ways to better cope with multi-layered, and complex situations.
